Website Terms of Use
Last Updated: August 2026
The Short Version
Welcome to Your Eulogy.
This website is operated by Ceri Wood, a sole trader trading as Your Eulogy.
You’re welcome to browse the website, read the resources, share links to pages, and use the information for your own personal purposes.
Please don’t copy substantial amounts of our content, republish it as your own, sell it, scrape it to build another product, or use it to train or develop an AI system without permission.
If you buy My Eulogy File or another digital product, separate Terms of Sale & Licence apply to that purchase.
Your Eulogy provides information, ideas, writing prompts, and resources. It isn’t a legal, medical, psychological, counselling, bereavement, or funeral-planning service.
And, as ever:
Please don’t send us your completed My Eulogy File.
The more formal version follows.

By using the website, you agree to these Terms.
If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the website.

- death and dying;
- eulogies and funerals;
- bereavement;
- relationships;
- illness;
- regret;
- difficult periods of life; and
- personal memories and experiences.
Some people may find these subjects difficult or upsetting.
You are always free to stop reading, skip a resource, or decide that something isn’t useful for you.
What Your Eulogy Provides
Your Eulogy provides resources designed to help people think and write about their lives and eventual eulogies.
This may include:
- articles;
- guides;
- questions and prompts;
- downloadable resources;
- information about writing eulogies;
- information about recording memories and stories; and
- paid digital products such as My Eulogy File.
The website may change over time.
We may add, update, remove, reorganise, or replace content and features without having to keep every previous version permanently available.
This Is General Information
Content on Your Eulogy is provided for general information, education, and personal reflection.
It isn’t intended to be professional advice.
In particular, Your Eulogy does not provide:
- legal advice;
- medical advice;
- mental health treatment or advice;
- counselling;
- therapy;
- bereavement counselling;
- financial advice;
- funeral directing;
- funeral planning services; or
- crisis support.
If you need professional advice or support, please use an appropriately qualified professional or service.
We’ll cover this in more detail in our separate Disclaimer.
Your Decisions Remain Yours
Some of the subjects discussed on Your Eulogy involve highly personal decisions.
For example, you might be considering:
- what to include in a eulogy;
- how to describe a relationship;
- whether to mention a difficult period;
- what should remain private;
- what message to leave somebody;
- who should eventually handle your File; or
- how you want part of your life described.
Our questions and resources are intended to help you think.
They don’t make those decisions for you.
You remain responsible for deciding what is appropriate for your circumstances.
Your Privacy and Other People’s Privacy
Your life involves other people.
When writing about your experiences, please remember that information about somebody else may also be their personal or private information.
Something being true, remembered by you, or important to your story doesn’t automatically mean it should eventually be published or read aloud.
We encourage you to think carefully about privacy, particularly when writing about:
- health;
- relationships;
- sexuality;
- identity;
- family disputes;
- traumatic experiences;
- financial matters;
- allegations;
- criminal matters;
- information about children; or
- anything another person might reasonably regard as confidential or sensitive.
Your Eulogy cannot decide whether a particular disclosure is legally or personally appropriate in your individual circumstances.
Where the consequences could be significant, appropriate professional advice may be needed.
Your My Eulogy File Answers
We do not provide an online system for completing or storing your My Eulogy File.
The downloadable File contains the questions, prompts, and guidance.
Your answers stay with you.
You choose how and where to record them.
Please don’t upload or send your completed File to us.
If you contact us with a question, provide only the information reasonably necessary for us to understand it.
For more information about how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the original content of Your Eulogy, including its written content, questions, prompts, guides, resources, branding, design elements, and original downloadable materials, is owned by or licensed to Ceri Wood trading as Your Eulogy and is protected by applicable intellectual property law.
That doesn’t mean you’re forbidden from doing normal internet things.
You are welcome to:
- read the website;
- link to our pages;
- share links with other people;
- use our resources for your own personal purposes; and
- quote limited extracts where permitted by law and with appropriate acknowledgement.
What you may not do without permission is dealt with below.
Copyright law itself contains exceptions that can permit certain limited uses without the copyright owner’s permission, including fair dealing in particular circumstances. Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove rights that the law gives you and which cannot lawfully be excluded.
Please Don’t Copy the Website
Unless we have given you permission or the law otherwise allows it, you must not:
- reproduce substantial parts of our website or resources;
- copy articles and republish them elsewhere;
- reproduce our prompts or questions as your own resource;
- create substantially copied or derivative commercial products from our materials;
- sell, sublicense, distribute, or commercially exploit our website content;
- remove copyright notices or attribution;
- present our content as your own;
- copy the structure and content of our resources to create a competing product; or
- systematically extract our content into a database, collection, dataset, or other resource.
If you want to use something beyond ordinary personal use, contact:
We may say yes.
Ask first.
AI, Automated Scraping, and Data Mining
We put quite a lot of work into creating this stuff.
Accordingly, except where applicable law provides otherwise, we do not give permission for Your Eulogy content to be systematically scraped, copied, extracted, or reproduced for the purpose of training, developing, fine-tuning, evaluating, or supplying generative AI models or other machine-learning systems.
You must not, without our prior written permission:
- scrape substantial amounts of Your Eulogy content for AI training;
- create datasets from our content for commercial AI or machine-learning purposes;
- use our original questions, prompts, articles, or resources as training material for a commercial AI product;
- use automated systems to reproduce substantial amounts of the website;
- use automated extraction to create a competing database, resource, workbook, or product; or
- circumvent reasonable technical measures intended to restrict automated access.
This area of UK copyright law is developing. As of 2026, the UK’s existing specific text-and-data-mining copyright exception remains focused on computational analysis for non-commercial research where the researcher has lawful access, while the government has been considering possible changes to the framework for AI training and rights reservation.
Nothing in this section is intended to prohibit activity that applicable law expressly permits and which cannot lawfully be restricted by contract.
Ordinary search-engine indexing and legitimate services necessary to make the public website discoverable aren’t what we’re trying to prevent here.
We’re trying to stop “publicly visible” being interpreted as “free raw material for somebody else’s commercial product”.
Linking to Your Eulogy
You’re welcome to link to publicly available pages on Your Eulogy.
You don’t need to ask permission to send somebody a link, share one on social media, include one in an article, or recommend the site.
However, you must not link to us in a way that:
- falsely suggests we endorse you, your organisation, product, or service;
- misrepresents your relationship with Your Eulogy;
- is deceptive or misleading; or
- unlawfully damages our reputation.
Please link to the page rather than copying the whole thing.
That’s rather what links are for.
External Links
Your Eulogy may link to websites, resources, products, organisations, or services operated by other people.
A link doesn’t automatically mean that we:
- endorse the organisation;
- recommend everything it does;
- guarantee its information;
- control its website; or
- accept responsibility for its products or services.
External websites have their own terms, privacy policies, and practices.
Use them accordingly.
Purchases
You may be able to purchase My Eulogy File and other digital products through links from Your Eulogy.
Our digital products are currently intended to be sold and delivered using Payhip.
Purchases are subject to our separate:
Those terms will explain matters including:
- payment;
- digital delivery;
- cancellation rights;
- refunds;
- faulty digital content;
- permitted personal use;
- printing and backup copies;
- sharing with the person who eventually handles your eulogy; and
- restrictions on redistribution.
Please read the Terms of Sale & Licence before purchasing.
Consumer-facing terms should be transparent and fair, and statutory consumer rights cannot simply be removed by contractual wording.
Free Resources
From time to time, we may provide free downloads, checklists, guides, templates, or other resources.
Unless we specifically say otherwise, free resources are provided for personal use.
You may make reasonable copies for your own use.
You must not, without permission:
- sell them;
- upload them to another website for other people to download;
- distribute blank copies commercially or systematically;
- remove our branding and present them as your own;
- incorporate substantial parts into a product you’re selling; or
- use them to create a substantially copied competing resource.
If we release something under different terms, we’ll make that clear.
Website Availability
We’d like Your Eulogy to work.
That is generally the plan.
However, we cannot guarantee that the website will always be:
- available;
- uninterrupted;
- error-free;
- completely secure;
- compatible with every device or browser; or
- permanently unchanged.
We may occasionally need to suspend or restrict access for maintenance, security, technical problems, updates, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may also discontinue the website or particular parts of it.
Accuracy and Updates
We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate information.
However, Your Eulogy contains a mixture of guidance, writing prompts, ideas, and general information rather than individual professional advice.
Information can also become outdated.
We may update pages when we identify errors or when circumstances change, but we don’t guarantee that every page will always be completely current.
If you’ve spotted something wrong, please tell us:
We’d rather correct it.
Misuse of the Website
Please don’t use Your Eulogy:
- unlawfully;
- fraudulently;
- to interfere with the operation or security of the website;
- to attempt unauthorised access to systems or information;
- to introduce malicious software or code;
- to overwhelm or disrupt the website;
- to harvest personal information unlawfully;
- to infringe somebody else’s intellectual property or privacy;
- to impersonate another person; or
- in connection with activity that infringes applicable law.
We may take reasonable steps to restrict or block access where necessary to protect the website, our rights, our users, or other people.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict rights or remedies that consumers have under applicable law and which cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to those rights and legal requirements, Your Eulogy is provided as a general information and writing resource.
We are not responsible for decisions you make solely because of a prompt, article, question, or general resource on the website where individual professional advice would reasonably have been appropriate.
We are also not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Any limitations or exclusions in these Terms should be interpreted only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Accessibility
We want Your Eulogy and its resources to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible.
Accessibility is a work in progress.
If something creates a barrier for you, please tell us.
We are also open to providing My Eulogy File in alternative formats where we reasonably can.
You can read more in our Accessibility Statement.
Privacy and Cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
Our Cookie Policy explains our use of cookies and similar technologies.
Please read those documents alongside these Terms where relevant.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
For example, we may make changes if:
- the website develops;
- we introduce new resources or services;
- our business arrangements change;
- technology changes; or
- relevant law or guidance changes.
The latest version will be published on this page with the Last updated date.
Changes won’t retrospectively remove consumer rights or contractual rights that have already arisen.
Which Law Applies?
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
If you’re a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or another country, you may also have mandatory rights under the laws applicable where you live.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive you of consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded.

That would be annoying.
